Little Snail Goes Walking

A little snail woke up one day. "I think I'll go and find my way."
Slow and small, he crossed a leaf. The leaf was green. The leaf was soft.
Drip went the dew.
Bright went the sun.
Slow went the snail, one by one.
He met a bee upon a rose. "Hello, hello," the small snail goes.
The bee said, "Buzz," and flew away. The rose was warm. The rose was pink.
Slow and small, he found a stone. The stone was smooth. The stone was cool.
Soft went the moss.
Round went the stone.
Slow went the snail, all alone.
He met a beetle, round and red. "Hello, hello," the small snail said.
Slow and small, the day grew long. The sky went gold. The wind went soft.
Home was near, behind the fern. His little shell was round and warm.
Slow and small, he curled inside. The fern was still. The fern was wide.
Down went the sun.
Hush went the day.
Slow went the snail, tucked away.
Warm in his shell, so round, so small, he heard the soft wind, that was all.
