The Snail and the Rain

Soft little rain on the soft little leaves. Drip, drip, drip from the dripping eaves.
A small brown snail comes out to see. Slow, so slow, past the mossy tree.
"Hello, wet world," the small snail said. A shiny trail lies where he tread.
Soft little rain on the soft little stone. The snail is warm in his little home.
Drip goes a leaf. Drip goes the sky. A round wet drop rolls slowly by.
The grass is green and the grass is wet. The softest grass the snail has met.
Soft little rain, soft little sound. Puddles like moons on the muddy ground.
The snail curls in where the moss is deep. Slow, so slow, all soft with sleep.
Drip, drip, drip. The rain grows small. Hush now, hush now, over it all.
Soft little snail on the soft little stone. The rain sings low, and the day slows down.
