Snow Falls Slow

Snow falls slow on the sleeping town. Soft and white, it settles down.
The sky is grey.
The air is cool.
The world is still.
A little bird sits on a wall. She feels the snowflakes, light and small.
They land on branches, one by one. They shine like sugar in the sun.
Snow falls slow, so soft, so slow. Everything hushes down below.
A cat walks by with quiet feet. She leaves small prints along the street.
Puff goes her breath.
White goes the ground.
No one makes a sound.
The snow piles up on the garden gate. The little bird is glad to wait.
She fluffs her wings, all warm and round. She feels the soft come drifting down.
Snow falls slow on the roof and tree. Soft and white as white can be.
The lamp glows gold.
The night comes near.
It's cozy here.
The cat curls up where the wall is warm. The bird tucks in, away from storm.
Snow falls slow, so hushed, so deep. The little town is soft with sleep.
Down and down the white flakes go, slow and soft, slow and slow.
